How it works:

Ordering: During business hours, daily from 8:30 am-2:30 pm, you can order ahead for pickup (or come on into the shop to order at the counter). Outside of business hours, you can schedule a future order through our online shop. We remain carryout only — no indoor seating at this time — but our patio is open with limited, first-come-first-serve seating.

Please note that for now, we’ve only posted a select number of popular books on the online store. Call us or stop by if you’re looking for a particular book or item - we very well may have it in stock!

Pickup: You'll receive a pickup notification as soon as your online order is ready. Disposable cutlery is available on request -- if you'd like a set, just let us know when you pick up. Call us at 202.232.5483 with any questions.

Safety: We’re taking abundant precautions to ensure our staff and customers stay healthy and safe. We’ve invested in several types of masks and face shields for our team members to wear inside and outside of work; we’ve installed plexiglass and have marked 6-foot distances for our pickup area; we’re operating with a smaller team; maintaining a 6-foot minimum distance for those working inside the cafe at all times; constantly sanitizing and re-sanitizing all surfaces, and implementing a strict protective regimen inside the café; monitoring employee health before every shift; and maintaining a culture where staff feel comfortable calling out sick.
