Local bands female-fronted bands All Her Muses and Sonic Eddy are helping bring music back to Potters House on a regular basis with a show on November 4 th at 7:00 PM. This is kicking off a more regular music program at Potters House following a fundraiser for Potters House Pay It Forward Program in July and being one of the sites for Adams Morgan Porchfest on October 1.
All Her Muses is a DC-based music project founded in 2017 by disabled poet/singer Natalie E. Illum and musician/composer Grey Jacks. They released their debut album "Not Speaking in Metaphor" in May 2022. The record is part punk, part heartbreak, part dance mix - inspired by unexpected breakups, depression cycles, and a few questionable decisions. All Her Muses features a rotating roster of guest musicians and artists, making each live (and live-streamed) performance unique. The current lineup includes harmony vocalist Kate Meuser, guitarist/vocalist Rachel Bee, Chapman Stick player Christian Crowley and accordion/Qchord player Sea Griffin.
Maya Renfro delves into a new territory of sound with solo project Sonic Eddy after being a core member of DC bands such as Pagan Reagan and the OSYX . Sonic Eddy is an experimental project that allows for both sample-based lofi music and dynamic guitar-fueled looping, paired with driving vocalizations. All musical evolutions are allowed with this ever-fluctuating exploration of self. This is a donation-based concert with a suggested minimum donation of $10 which will be split between the two bands and Potters House Community Social Service programs like the Pay It Forward program which offers free meals to anyone in need. Since the pandemic began Potters House has given away more than 30,000 free meals helping the local community and neighbors in need.
The café and bookstore will be open during the show so feel free to grab something delicious to eat or drink or pick up your next favorite read!
