Find a penpal with Black & Pink!
Black and Pink is a community of LGBTQ prisoners and their "free world" allies, who advocate for prison abolition from the lived experience of people are currently and who have been incarcerated. "We are outraged by the specific violence of the prison industrial complex against LGBTQ people, and respond through advocacy, education, direct service, and organizing."
This month, DC Letters to Prison works with Black and Pink's resources to connect free and incarcerated pen pals. If you would like to find a pen pal, please start by visiting Black and Pink's website, reading through their guidelines. We recommend that you choose a prisoner from their list and fill out the form to receive their mailing address ahead of time: http://www.blackandpink.org/pen-pals/pen-pal-guidelines/.
On the evening, we'll provide the materials and use the time to write our letters in company.
