Tell Me the Number before Infinity: the story of a girl with a quirky mind, an eccentric family, and oh yes, a disability by Becky Taylor and Dena Taylor is a one-of- a-kind memoir, written from their two perspectives with interwoven chapters about Becky’s life growing up with cerebral palsy.

People with disabilities, parents, teachers, and those curious about how a child’s mind works will find a fascinating story in this honest, heartbreaking and humorous account about how Dena’s and Becky’s lives have been impacted but not defined by Becky’s disability. Becky was one of the first children to be mainstreamed into the public school system after the passage of the 1975 U.S. federal law.

Becky Taylor lives in Santa Cruz, California, where she vice-chairs the Commission on Disabilities and is involved with other civic organizations. She is a UC Santa Cruz Computer Science graduate. Her mother, Dena Taylor, MSW, Rutgers University, is retired from careers in social work and education. She is the author, editor, and co-editor of six books on women’s issues.
