Join Parallel Film Collective for the Launch of our New Series "REEL WOMEN TALK SEX: Discussing Gender & Race in Film and Culture" talking with filmmakers, artists, scholars and cultural critics on issues of gender, racial and cultural representations. This first "Reel Women Talk Sex" features San Francisco Bay area Writer and Filmmaker Nijla Mu'min in discussion with Parallel Film Collective founder Montré Aza Missouri on images of race, gender, sexuality and religion in film and popular culture.

Nijla Mu'min is an award-winning filmmaker, writer and teaching artist from the East Bay Area. She is a graduate of University of California at Berkeley and also attended Howard University's MFA Film Program where she was the recipient of the 2009 Paul Robeson Award for Best Feature Screenplay. She is a dual-degree graduate from the MFA Film Directing and MFA Writing programs at the California Institute for the Arts (CalArts).
