Mexico in the Trump Era

Mexico in the Trump Era

Mexico has witnessed several high-profile incidents of violence and state repression in recent years, including the now infamous disappearances of the 43 students of Ayotzinapa. Yet the country has also witnessed tenacious resistance by workers, teachers, peasants, and indigenous people. With the election of Trump in the U.S., these struggles are certain to take on new dimensions. Jimena Vergara is a Mexican writer, activist and professor. She will be discussing the fights against repression, femicides, and austerity in Mexico and their connection to international feminist and working-class struggles.
